Newest Goal: Productive + Fun Week

Hope you all enjoyed my animaptions from the last post (get it? animals+captions=anim-aptions!)...
Side note: if you particularly enjoy a particular post, leave a comment so I know what it is you particularly like to see. Particularly.

So, moving on...here's my goal list for the week:
- Read all chapters for Biochem & Ecology midterms
- Complete all homework by the day before it's due
- Complete all over-the-weekend assignments by Friday night
- NO MEAT (workin' on day 6...WOOTYEET)
- Make a new friend (seriously)

And above all...stay positive + have fun.

So, what am I up to?

Well, I started the morning at 1:00 pm with a soy-fruit smoothie, oatmeal and coffee.  Homework's all done.  Chapter prepping is complete.  I'm actually taking some time to practice my penmanship.  I'm also relearning the Hebrew alphabet.  And finally, I'm watching Secrets of the Founding Fathers on the History Channel.  Doesn't that sound like an exciting Sunday afternoon?

Jeremy's shower broke again.  The floor is cracked and he'll need to reseal it.  Hopefully, it'll last longer than 2 months this time.  If anyone out there has a better idea on how to fix it, please let me know in the comments.

Well, I hope this post hasn't been too boring.  Here's a funny photo to make up for it:

Cute Animals!

Because who doesn't like cute animals??  Celebrating my renewed vegetarianism!

I am not cute.  Stop looking at me.  Now.  Stop.  I bite.

Mooooooom.  It's wet out! Do we have to go to school today?

*nibble* I said I'd eat my veh-ja-tuh-bles.  You don't gotta watch me....

If I can't see you me, you can't see me. Right?

Hrm. Smells like chicken.

Oh...you're takin' a picture, eh?  I'll just stand right 'bout here...

And end.

From Monsoons to First Days of Autumn & Leaf Collecting...aka Really Long Post Names

So, yesterday it rained 20" in the ATL.  I'm not sure how much it rained here, but it was pretty intense.

So intense, I wrote a poem about it (see previous blost).
((ps - "blost" is the new term for blog post.  yes, coined right here, right now))

I'm feeling a bit goofy tonight, so here are some captioned pictures:

No party is complete without Aqua.

Giant beanbag chairs are for drunken meditations.  Oooommm.

Found on forest floor.  Okay, I have no idea what this is?

Yet another giant, interesting moth-creature.

Entirely unedited.  Florida Maple : )

And now, in celebration of my day spent collecting leaves, painting them with nail polish, covering them with tape and sticking the impressions on glass slides....

She Booms

She booms, she roars.
Shattering window panes
With the pounding in her veins.

She fights and thrashes.
She cries for her lost child.
Desperate, she, unrelenting and wild.

With the shedding of each tear,
Each closer to one million,
She mourns the forgotten victim.

The earth soaks up her cries.
It shakes and crumbles at her wailing.
"Forget not," cries she, "my maternal failing!"

I'm not a NUGGET!

Back to the veg lifestyle, my friends.

Busy, Busy Week.

Weekend Update:
Between work and Chi Omega fun, the weekend went incredibly fast.  I hardly had time to check my email, let alone write to you lovely readers.  Last night was spent murdering countless ants.  Apparently, they were slowly eating a dead roach under the couch (okay, GROSS) and had nearly taken over the living room.  We held a short memorial service to honor their passing.  Two cats and two humans attended.

After cleaning up the battlegrounds, homework commenced.  All resources were allocated to that front until early morning.  Gotta keep the good grades!

Speaking of:
90 on Biochemistry Exam
92 on Ecology Exam

And now...
Lab reports, Prelabs, Presentations, Mechanics Problems & Enzyme Kinetics!

Happy Lunchtime!

Lovely readers (all two of you),

Sending happy thoughts your way this almost-noon-time...
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Did you catch all of that?

Good.

And now, Shel Silverstein :o)

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

Procrastination....&& Promises

Ok. So, I'm definitely supposed to be studying for Ecology at this moment, but instead I'm making some promises. To you.  Well, to me really...

As of now, I shirk negativity.  I cast it off, delete from the hard drive, spurn it into nonexistence.

I will not speak ill of any other.  I will not use my breath spreading complaints of no import.  I will not soak in envy, jealousy; will not hold grudges.  I'm done with these poisonous feelings.  They have no place in my life.

In Old Testament, freshman year, my professor talked about something that's really stuck with me.  The Jews are a culture of responsibility, not guilt...obligation.  They live to improve God's world.  They are obliged to live everyday in a manner that "brings heaven to Earth." I want to live that way.

I'm not especially religious.  God's cool & amazing & awesome but a little too big & scary for me to spend much time contemplating.  I do feel that each person has the opportunity to either improve, destroy or leave untouched their small portion of the world.  I want to improve mine...

...Not so I can be remembered.  Not so I can live on through the lives I've improved.  Death is final whether people attend your funeral or tell stories about you after you're gone.  I want to improve my corner of the world because it's the right thing to do.  It's what nags me every night.  It's what I think of every morning.

Now, the options are limitless...
- recycle to save the earth
- donate money to a charity
- send strangers encouraging postcards
- become a damn good doctor & save lives
- fight for the under-represented
- give blood

Ideally, one would do every last item on the infinite list.  We don't live in an ideal world and I have other commitments that I apparently ignore in favor of writing a reader-less blog.  Point being: my contribution is positivity.  The lack of negativity and the universal application of happiness, sincerity, love, and optimism.  Maybe even some laughter to spice it up.

Want some warm & fuzzies?

Alrighty.

I'm actually going to study now :)

sending out the good vibrations.  you picking 'em up?

Oh, Hi There!

Ok, so.  It's been a while.

That "do-able" list looks pretty daunting 20 months later.

Here's a life update:

- I'm ENGAGED!  To Jeremy Clark Trotter.  <3
- I live in a beautiful house in Warner Robins with the fiance mentioned above.
- I'm 10 - 15 lbs heavier but I eat whatever I want.
- I got a 34 on my first MCAT!
- I'm in the process of applying to Medical School.
- I'm officially a twit!  Follow me @SheDocGinger
- I added a second major & am still working on a Masters in Engineering.

Here's the plan:
- Update this think about weekly or more.
- I hope to create a new list of goals in the next few days.
- Integrate facebook, twitter and blog

What matters to you:
- Maybe you'll get to know me better if you're a friend.
- Maybe you'll make a new friend if we're not yet.
- Some interesting updates on stuff not-at-all related to me.
- A mostly unfiltered look into what takes up my thoughts.

All for now, but check out this mammoth moth & arachnid:
